Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2026 declared with 86% pass rate. Udupi tops with 93.90%. Check district-wise performance, toppers list, and key updates.

The Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2026 has brought exciting news for students and educators across the state, with Udupi district securing the top position once again. The results were officially announced on April 9, 2026, by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), ending the long wait for more than 7 lakh students.

This year’s results have shown a strong overall improvement, with the state recording an impressive 86% pass percentage, significantly higher compared to last year’s 73.45%. Among all districts, Udupi has emerged as the clear leader, continuing its consistent academic excellence.

Udupi District Secures First Rank in Karnataka

Udupi district has once again proved its academic strength by achieving the highest pass percentage of 93.90%, securing the top position in the state. This performance highlights the district’s strong education system, disciplined learning environment, and consistent student performance.

Close behind Udupi, Dakshina Kannada secured the second position with 93.57%, showing that coastal Karnataka continues to dominate in academic results. These districts have maintained their top rankings from previous years as well, showing consistency and quality in education.

Strong Performances Across Other Districts

Apart from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, several other districts also performed well in the Karnataka 2nd PUC results. Bangalore South secured third place with 85.36%, followed by Kodagu with 83.84% and Bangalore North with 83.31%.

Districts like Uttara Kannada (82.93%), Shivamogga (79.91%), Bangalore Rural (79.70%), and Chikkamagaluru (79.56%) also reported strong pass percentages, staying well above the state average.

However, some districts in North Karnataka continue to face challenges. Yadgir recorded the lowest pass percentage at 48.45%, highlighting the need for better infrastructure, academic support, and resources in certain regions.

Toppers and Outstanding Student Achievements

This year’s results also showcased exceptional individual performances across streams. In the Science stream, students from coastal districts once again dominated.

From Udupi district, Vaishnavi from Jnanasudha PU College scored 597 out of 600, emerging as one of the top scorers in the state. Another student from the same college, Arnavi, also secured 597 marks, reflecting the strong academic environment in the district.

In Dakshina Kannada, Shamanyu S. Shetty and Nandan Nayak scored 598 marks in Science, while in the Commerce stream, Disha from Alva’s College achieved a perfect score of 600 out of 600. Similarly, Aditi from Bengaluru also secured a perfect 600 in Commerce.

In the Arts stream, students from Vijayanagar district performed exceptionally well, with top scorers reaching 598 marks, showing balanced performance across all streams.

Gender Performance and Academic Trends

One of the key highlights of the Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2026 is that girls have once again outperformed boys in overall pass percentage. This trend has been consistent over the years and reflects growing academic excellence among female students across the state.

The results also reveal a noticeable gap between coastal, urban, and northern districts. Coastal regions like Udupi and Dakshina Kannada continue to dominate, while several northern districts still lag behind due to various socio-economic factors.

Institutional Performance Differences

The data also highlights differences in performance based on the type of educational institutions. Unaided (private) PU colleges recorded the highest pass percentage, followed by residential schools and aided colleges.

On the other hand, government PU colleges reported comparatively lower pass percentages, indicating the need for more focus on improving teaching quality, infrastructure, and student support in these institutions.

Key Changes in Evaluation and Student Relief

In a significant move, KSEAB reduced the minimum passing marks from 35% to 30% this year. This decision has helped many students clear the exam and reduced academic pressure.

Additionally, students who are not satisfied with their results will have the option to apply for revaluation and scrutiny once the application window opens. The government has also announced relief measures such as free exam attempts for repeaters and special coaching classes in certain regions.

What This Means for Students

The Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2026 is not just about marks but also reflects the overall education trends in the state. For students, this result opens the door to higher education opportunities such as engineering, medical, degree courses, and competitive exams.

For districts like Udupi, this achievement further strengthens their reputation as education hubs. Meanwhile, for lower-performing districts, this serves as a reminder of the need for improvement and support.

Conclusion

The Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2026 has clearly shown that Udupi district continues to lead the state in academic performance, followed closely by other coastal regions. With improved pass percentages, outstanding toppers, and supportive policy changes, this year’s results bring positive news for students across Karnataka.

As education continues to evolve, such performances not only inspire students but also highlight the importance of equal opportunities and quality education across all regions of the state.
